ESWT was superior to corticosteroid injections for pain reduction, plantar fascia thickness reduction, and functional improvement at 3 and 6 months.

Systematic review of 18 studies evaluating ESWT for hip and pelvic tendinopathies.
ESWT was generally safe and associated with improvements in pain and function across conditions, including GTPS and proximal hamstring tendinopathy.
Reported adverse events were mild; further high-quality trials are needed to define optimal protocols.
